Running a loyalty card scheme¶
Many businesses these days use loyalty cards and a points based reward system to keep customers loyal. With ProEPOS you too can reward your customers by allowing them to collect "points" which they can then redeem against future purchases.
Before you can use the loyalty system you will need to enable it by adding the loyalty scheme configuration option (contact Image Retail Solutions support for assistance with this). Refer to the appropriate section for details on how to issue star commands.
Once enabled, the loyalty system will prompt for a customer's loyalty card at the start of each visit. For loyalty card customers you can either:
- Scan the loyalty card.
- Search for the customer through the customer account.
For a loyalty card to be recognised its number must be included in the "Loyalty Card" field of the customer's record in the customer database. You can use loyalty cards with pre-printed barcodes.
If the customer does not have their loyalty card and you would like to search for them by name or address, simply tap the Account button to search for the customer.
Once a loyalty card has been accepted their name will appear at the top right corner of the POS screen.
After serving a loyalty card customer, a statement of their points balance will be included on their receipt. This tells them how many points they have collected on this visit and how many points they have in total.
By default, 1 point is accrued per whole pound spent (e.g. £1 = 1 point, £2.99 = 2 points, etc).
