Cash drop

It is possible to configure ProEPOS to be able to prompt the cashier to perform a cash drop when the till drawer reaches a set amount of cash sales (the amount can be set by the store owner in the configuration options) and record any Cash drops to the safe to reduce the amount of cash held in the tills.

Sample 1 Sample 2 Sample 3 Sample 4

Note

Sample 1

Standard example with float, petty cash disbursements and lottery payouts

Sample 2

Same as Sample 1 except store is not using float handling

Sample 3

Same as Sample 1 but only lottery payouts and a smaller value

Sample 4

Shows what happens when you have had more cash going out of the till than you have coming into the till, to have any amount available to cashdrop you would need an additional £60.01+ to have any cash available to be dropped

Caveat

The lottery payouts in particular is that we are assuming they are refunded (in cash) but may be offset against a card transaction, for example.

There are 2 ways of knowing when a cash drop is required the first is that the change dialog changes from a yellow background to a green background, the other is the 'Cash drop required' message that appears at the top of the POS terminal window:

Cash drop warning

To perform a cash drop tap the £ drop button:

Cash drop button

Enter the amount of cash being dropped into the safe, the amount of cash available to drop is displayed in the window title bar, this amount is the value of the cash sales not including the float is held in the system, in the below example £500.00:

Cash drop amount entry

When the amount has been entered a slip prints out that should be attached to the cash being placed in the safe so as it can be reconciled with the amounts dropped through the day when the cashing up process is performed. If the slip does not print out immediately, is corrupted or only partially prints it is possible to perform a reprint of the slip by tapping Yes on the reprint request window:

Cash drop reprint receipt prompt

When the slip has printed successfully and the No button is tapped on the reprint window another window stating the amount of money dropped is displayed.

Tap the OK button to return to the POS terminal window.

Cash drop total

All of the cash drops are printed out when a Z-Read is performed.
