Discount for the entire visit

You may wish to apply a discount to the entire visit in certain cases e.g.:

• Employee discount
• Loyal customer
• Goodwill gesture

This is done through the DISCOUNT button:

Once selected the system will request the reason for the discount:

Select the reason and tap the PROCEED button. You are presented with a choice of options:

Select the type of discount and tap the PROCEED button to apply the discount.

Reduce to cost

This option allows you to reduce the value of the goods in the visit to their own current cost value.

If there are lines that already have a discount applied you are then prompted whether you want to only apply this discount to all sales lines that have not already been discounted in the visit:

Tap Yes to apply this discount to items that have not been discounted individually, tap No to apply this discount to all products in the visit.

Note

Tapping No will override any other discounts set on individual lines.

£ discount (non-vatable)

This option allows you to apply a monetary discount to the visit that is non-vatable discount. When this option is used a new line is applied to the visit detailing the whole visit discount applied with a VAT rate of 0.00%.

Enter the discount amount through the onscreen keypad:

Finally tap the ENTER button to apply the discount.

£ discount (vatable)

This option allows you to apply a monetary discount to the visit that is vatable discount. When this option is used a new line is applied to the visit detailing the whole visit discount applied with a VAT rate of 20.00%.

Enter the discount amount through the onscreen keypad:

Finally tap the ENTER button to apply the discount.

% discount

This option allows you to apply a percentage discount to the visit that will be applied to each individual product in the visit.

Enter the discount amount through the onscreen keypad:

Finally tap the ENTER button, to apply the discount to all products in the visit.

If there are lines that already have a discount applied you are then prompted whether you want to only apply this discount to all sales lines that have not already been discounted in the visit:

Tap Yes to apply this discount against items that have not been discounted individually, tap No to apply this discount to the current total value of the visit.

If any products are scanned after the discount has been applied, the discount will not apply to these products.
