Remote database updates (WholesaleLink)

Some larger wholesalers provide a facility whereby an EPOS system can "link in" with their back office I.T. systems to:

  • Download product / barcode updates
  • Upload purchase orders
  • Download electronic delivery notes
  • Download customer promotions where you are a member of a symbol group
  • Upload sales performance to gain bonuses from wholesaler

This level of functionality reduces administration time spent on maintaining the database, placing orders and receiving-on stock. It also considerably reduces the number of data input errors.

With ProEPOS, this functionality is provided by the WholesaleLink module.

The WholesaleLink module supports a number of wholesalers, the list of which is continually growing.

To purchase the WholesaleLink module or to find out if your main supplier is supported, please contact your reseller.

To download the latest product updates select the "Download & apply wholesaler updates" option from the "File" menu of the "Maintain Stock line" window. You are asked to confirm that you would like to "Check gateway for product updates and apply?":

Click the YES button to download any product updates which are available and apply them to the system. Click NO to cancel the download.

After the product file update has been processed you will be asked if you would like to "Check gateway for delivery notes?":

Clicking the YES button will download and import any electronic delivery notes for stock purchased since the last download.

If you are a member of a symbol group that has the ability to download customer promotions. After the delivery notes file has been processed you will be asked if you would like to "Check gateway for customer promotion updates?":

Clicking the YES button will download and import any customer promotions since the last download.

Note

Some customer promotion updates require details of which promotion period to download.

For BestOne, Nisa and Costcutter members who are also part of the New Era Deal there is an additional prompt to "Post sales data?":

Clicking the YES button will post the latest week of sales through to the wholesaler for them to process.
