Access control settings¶
By default, ProEPOS splits the facilities of the software into three groups - Sales Assistants, Store Managers and Store Owners. Which facilities a user can access is reflected by their access level. In some circumstances however you may want finer control over who has access to each individual facility (you may have some sales assistants for example who you would happily allow to receive stock onto the system - a facility that would normally be restricted to users with store manager level access).
ProEPOS allows you full control over the access control settings used by the application.
You can specify an individual access level for a facility, a list of users who can access that facility or a combination of the two.
From the main menu, select Employees -> Security -> Set access levels. The current access control settings will be displayed:
Each line represents either a menu option in ProEPOS or a particular facility within a module. The value of the "Access list" field of each row represents the access control setting for that option. Possible values are as follows:
N-
No credentials are requested and the user is allowed straight into the facility.
A-
A minimum of Sales Assistant access is required.
S-
A minimum of Supervisor access is required.
M-
A minimum of Store Manager access is required.
O-
A minimum of Store Owner access is required (note this is the letter O and not the number 0).
Note
That Store Owners are always permitted access to a facility, regardless of the access control settings for that facility.
It is also possible to specify a comma separated list of employee ID's in place of an access level or in addition to it. Remember to press "ENTER" after editing the access list otherwise the details will not be saved.
After editing the settings, click the SAVE button and close the window.
Any changes will take effect immediately.
